Handsome Hounds

"What kind of dog is that?"

That dog is a retired racing greyhound, a sighthound with a streamlined shape, athletic build and gentle nature, looking for his "forever" home. After a lifetime on the track, this handsome hound deserves the regal treatment in his retirement.

Even tempered and gentle, they are pack-oriented dogs who quickly adopt human "masters" into their pack. They are most affectionate toward those who they know and trust. Greyhounds bark very little, which makes them excellent suburban pets, and are usually as friendly to strangers as they are with their own family.

The most common misconception concerning greyhounds is that they are hyperactive. It is usually the opposite. The greyhound is basically a quiet dog who will spend most of his time sleeping in a favorite spot.
